01/01/2012 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It is always exciting to think of the prospect of a new year. At least, we think so! So much happens in a year. Where were you at in life on January 1, 2011? We were, of course, in Vancouver, WA living it up in the work of church planting. Now here we are back in our hometown of OKC and who knows where next New Years Day will find us?!
As you may or may not know, we are currently praying about and seeking a pastorate to fill. There are so many churches that need pastors and we have been blessed to visit a few of them. We want to go to the time and place that we feel to be right and this is a weighty thing. So already we have had to pass on some opportunities because we want to be sure that God is in our decision. We have so many friends and fam praying with us on the matter and so we know that God will not deny us as we seek His will.
Mike really likes New Years Eve. For some reason unbeknownst to mortal men, NYE is one of his favorite holidays. What is NYE like around our place? Well, if we can manage to stay awake for it, it is quite lackluster. Ha! I mean, no parties, no big events, etc. We try to watch the ball drop in NYC (on tv) or the ball rise in OKC (home of the Thunder). The coverage of both events is usually pretty lame as the tv people are often more interested in celebrating than offering live coverage!
Work is going really well and we praise the Lord that Mike's job transferred from Portland. God is always good but we admit that we have seen His special blessing since returning in September. This year we are looking forward to being involved in so many wonderful things in the Lord's work now that we are home. First up is the National Church Planting & Home Missions Conference at HBBC beginning in a little over a week. Then there is Missions Conference in March at our church and some big stuff in May.
While all of this is going on, we will continue to stay at it and seek the Lord and reach others for Him. That being said, maybe we will have news soon! Till then, why don't you sign our Friends Log? DO IT! :p
Until next time... ~May God bless~
